Welcome to the SSP Mustang Page! Whether you are already familiar with these cars or just stumbled across us on the web, we think you'll enjoy your visit. This is the single largest website dedicated to the Special Service Mustang, so there's a lot to see.
Please note, the emphasis here is on restoration, including attention to detail on equipment, lettering, and usage. We have compiled a restoration section with all kinds of interesting information for those looking to restore a car from a specific department. We are not experts on SSP specific parts and options, so if this if the info you are looking for, others like PPI in Oak Hill, VA may be able to help.
There are also many photos from various agencies depicting cars in service; you may want to review the photo gallery for pictures on these vehicles, especially if you own an SSP car, to see perhaps what if might have looked like while active; be sure to check out the other galleries as well-there's close to 1500 images from around the world there.
If you're new to SSP Mustangs start with the FAQ area for some general info on what these cars are all about. We've got a lot of contributors with some great information to share.
If you are interested in talking Mustangs online, please be sure to visit our message forums. There are a variety of topics to discuss and I think you'll enjoy who you meet!
We also have several other areas of interest, including cars for sale, listings of Mustang events throughout the year, a section on Mustang features of interest, and a calendar with a different SSP car each month. Additionally, there is a technical section with some information on SSP cars and options, including brochures, usage numbers, codes, etc; I think you'll find it informative and hopefully helpful.
There is also a links page to other Mustang and SSP related sites, pricing on SSP cars updated quarterly, and a look at my personal collection of SSP cars. We try to give the visitor here a broad experience here by touching on many different areas of the SSP Mustang world.
I hope you find the site interesting and informative. I don't pretend to be an 'expert' on SSP's, but rather a catalyst for compiling as much information and photos of both in-service and retired cars as possible. I have contacted every state agency that used these cars, as well as many local ones, and spoken with dozens of law enforcement officers who drove them in an attempt to put together as wide a spectrum of information as is possible. Additionally, although much of the information is my own, you will notice many pieces of information and dozens of photos from others who have helped this effort tremendously. I consider this site a true group effort, and I thank everyone who has made it what it is for their help. If you have any photos or information you would like to contribute, it's always welcomed, please email me and I will be happy to add it.
Enjoy the site, and stop back often!
